Can Videos Auto-Play Instead of Having to Click Play?

The days of video autoplaying on devices are over...
and for good reason too!

Since 2017, Chrome and other major browsers started only allowing video to autoplay when it is muted on load. There is no one, universal cross-browser way around it and for good reason - it far too often causes a bad UX (user experience) and is bothersome to those around you when in public places.

Whether it’s a video from a website, or worse, an ad where the browser window is a popunder and it’s near impossible to find the right tab, it’s a pain and a nuisance more often than not.

Browsers are smart. When they realize you legitimately visit a certain site and physically click a video's play button, they actually start to auto-play videos for you from that same site moving forward.

There are definitely trade offs to consider. We recommend leaving autoplay off. If they want to watch it, they will click play.
